Hi Guys,

I was looking around for OSL script for parallax mapping projection and Find this one here http://www.racoon-artworks.de/?p=773 is working for me on the orbx attached I jsut don't know how to changes some parts there to make work.

First is the UVW is based on world space I guess need be on Object space, also then be able to scale the texture as usually UV projection.

This could be really interesting for some projects. Please any help would be great for those who control better the OSL scripting.

Best,
JO

I was speaking with @Pascal and he gave me a great idea to replace the line "vector uvwIn = vector(u,v,0)" by "point uvwIn = P" and is working better get the texture displayed properly but I fell the parallax has a offset on the x axis on the UV I don't know how to get that fixed we still looking at :)

Hi Guys

It's Alive is working Guys... here scene attached, I think need be adjust the OSL script I'm terrible with that but is working, maybe Dev Team could actually propose a new octane projection node? or just help and have a more clean script.

Big shout out to Pascal and Fadj for the help. they point out some solutions after testing a bit is better!

Here the scene attached.

Best,
JO

I try your shader, great result but the shading seems inverted along 1 axis...
I try to investigate.

Edit. Found it, it works with the normal map y inverted.

You welcome is a wip, please don't hesitate to share it if you find something better for the script, we manage to get without flip but require more samples, but also we try to get the height texture to be like a imager node cause this case we can tile the textures please let us know.

Cheers,
