BAD: :(

All the viewport-Pickers NOT working when 2x or 4x Upsampler modes are used.
-Auto-Focus Picker
-Whitepoint Picker
-Material Picker
-Object Picker
-Camera Target Picker

Almost like it is picking from the 'unseen' .5 or .25 behind-the-scenes resolution size. Was not case in XB2, it picked from where you visually picked on screen.
Workaround is setting Upsampler mode to "No upsampler" in Imager, then pickling, and then going back to Upsampler modes of 2x or 4x.

GOOD!!!! :D
-saves at 16bit
-Hotpixel Remover functional with Up-sampling
-all Sub-sampling functional with Up-sampling

Thanks team.

I'm just going through some of the previous bugs I've posted and noticed a few still havent been fixed, or the fix isn't correct.

1) Layered material: viewtopic.php?p=364046#p364046
Both materials render the same now, but have become quite dark. I don't think this is right

layered_spec_dark.jpg

2) Composite layer renders incorrectly: viewtopic.php?p=364054#p364054
Both materials render more similar now, but there are still odd artifacts happening from the composite material.

composite_artifacts.jpg

3) Fast rounded edges are broken using the geometry "merge unwelded vertices" option: viewtopic.php?p=364413#p364413
Still a problem in RC1

Image

4) Rounded edge has artifacts where corners meet: viewtopic.php?p=364416#p364416
Still a problem in RC1

Image

5) Artifacts with these universal material settings: viewtopic.php?p=364496#p364496
Still a problem in RC1

Image

6) Octane is not updating when changing rounded edge radius: viewtopic.php?p=364506#p364506
Still a problem in RC1

7) CUDA crash toggling shadow catcher pin on and off: viewtopic.php?p=364534#p364534
Still a problem in RC1

OctaneRender Enterprise 2019.1 RC1 (6000002)

CUDA error 719 on device 0: unspecified launch failure
-> failed to wait for event
device 0: path tracing kernel failed

8) Rounded edge artifacts: viewtopic.php?p=364878#p364878
While the really obvious artifacts were fixed on the small mesh, the big mesh has worse rounded edges than XB2 now

9) Rounded edges: viewtopic.php?p=364887#p364887
Once again, the obvious artifacts were fixed, but I now see some "lines" on what should be a smooth surface. Toggle rounded edges off fixes it.

10) Ai light is making things darker: viewtopic.php?p=364921#p364921
Still a problem in RC1

As soon as I set upsampling 2x2 or 4x4 it will fail on all gpus when the rendering ends. Then Octane will crash if I try to close it. This happens on all the scenes I have tried.

I tried this, I was sure it was going to crash my system because I had issues like this with XB2, but no, works fine.
Perhaps GPU type may be a factor? I am using Titan X Pascal (not Xp)

Error 40. I used the wrong EXE file so I was actually testing on the old XB2 and not RC1  Me bad!

Well, I see the Upsampling was moved to the Imager. So when I turned it on, Octane crashed again. Same problem as before  So RC1 still has the problem - for me at least.

Can someone explain what the difference is between the 2 new material layers (coating layer and dielectric layer)?

They actually appear to be exactly the same.

Whenever I had those in my situation, I always try to see if any of the following make a difference, by seeing if other users with a similar arrangement are experiencing the same thing or not:
Win 7 vs Win 10
Nvidia Driver
Gpu arrangement and settings

As a reference, i am using
-Win 10,
-Nvidia 425.31,
-and am not using my main mobo GPU for rendering, only my external 7 Pascal Titan X. I only have one of these set to use Denoising and Tonemapping, all the rest are just active, with no other boxes checked.

One other thing to try is just the mobo GPU by itself to see if it works when using just the 1 card. And then, test 2 or more cards, to see if it makes a difference in any way.

The composite material node "Material 1 Mask" pin does nothing.

I mentioned this in the XB2 thread too. Why is it there?

It should work as an opacity modulator for the first material. I'll look into this myself.
