Hey guys,

Really disappointed that I cannot try this great release.

I'm currently on subscription, have 12 weeks left, yet I'm getting an error when launching 2019 XB1.

My license is fine for 4 and 2018 - I've signed out of 2018 then launched 2019 again and I'm still seeing this error (see attached image)

**update**

I took a look at my subscriptions and mystifyingly, my Standalone license is labelled as expired even though the expiration date is in the future, 16th June 2019 - (see attached image)

It's also bizarre that my current versions of Octane are looking at that license and are happy with it, can somebody sort this please ?

Thanks

These are great improvements so far!
Is this release limited to 2 GPUs?

Hi all. We will shortly release a regular license build of 2019.1 XB1, to allow customers with version 4 regular licenses to try 2019.1 XB1. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Hi, here is a better description of things I was seeing with...
--DISPLACEMENT-- :o

Displacement_1.jpg

Can someone have a look at this scene and tell me if they get the same experience?

Basically, I wanted the level of detail of the blue sphere on the right in the yellow sphere on the left, but I wanted it as a layer.

In the Yellow sphere I have 3 Displacement layers:
1 - Vertex Displacement (image 1) - works fine, at 0 in the picture
2 - Vertex Displacement (image 2) - Same texture as Blue Sphere, and it works as Vertex, but has less detail compared to what the Texture Displacement gave on the Blue Sphere itself.
3 - Texture Displacement (image 2) - Same as Blue Sphere, but not seemingly working as a layer...and this sucks because in the Blue Sphere it had the detail I wanted

So it seems like I can get a Vertex layered texture to work only when as a Vertex, but then it's resolution is diminished somehow as a Vertex....

I would love to... if somebody from Otoy would sort my licensing issues out...

Now you have better denoising of fog. Any plans for better denoising of objects reflected in a secular material with roughness.

[quote="linograndiotoy"]The new Displacement works beautifully, at least with procedurals and projections.

Can we make seamless terrains and asphalt with it?

The first thing you cannot mix a vertex displacement with a texture(pixel) displacement at least at this point. The displacement mixer works only on vertex displacement nodes. The Texture displacement works on the pixel level on the run time so it can work even with the simple 1x1 plane but has some limitations because of no information about the adjacent polygons on run time. on the other hand, the vertex displacement is applied to the vertices of the geometry on compile time so it requires more vertices to get the same details, you either have to provide high-resolution geometry or subdivide the geometry to an acceptable level. In theory, it is possible to get the output of vertex displacement same as texture displacement, but practically not easy, because you need a ridiculously high-resolution model to get the same output and also how both are implemented.

Hi all. I recorded a short video with displacement issue, please watch this https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Zc_ba ... cAOvkikCam
I'm not sure that this works correctly.
