You guys were talking about adding a sparkle shader for snow sparkle and paint. Will we still see it in a new version? Thanks

Strange fireflies in 3.08 RC3 Path Tracing (nothing similar was in 3.08 TEST 6 :? )
Rendering glossy material with opacity map, using HDRI environment lighting - a lot of fireflies appears. Some changes in Path Tracing?

When saving I see that the gpus fail and after a couple of seconds I get the popup with 'octane render has stopped working'. If I look at my memory I still have 15 gbs of ram left.

Ok, then the problem is something else. Which driver version are you using? There have been a lot of issues reported for the 39x drivers, especially for Kepler GPUs. If you are using one of those recent drivers, maybe it works better with 387 or 388 driver.

Two more questions: Which GPUs are you using? Your signature says 780Ti, is that still true? And do you use post-effects (bloom/glare) in the scene and can you save the result with bloom and glare disabled?

I cannot easily see which nvidia driver I have (because I use a cpu-gpu for viewing and not an nvidia one). But I did not update in the last 10 months so I should be an older one.
The problem is on our machine with 5 x 1080TI cards with 11 gigs of memory.
Yes Post processing was enabled, If disabled it, it crashes as well (maybe even faster).

Then, sometimes it will give an error message that it could not save the material, but then it actually does save, and with textures! :P

I get this material saving weirdness in V4XB1 as well.
Thx!

Edit - Maybe it has to do with image size? ie 4096 x 4096 too large to be saved?

I have now tried for a while to reproduce the problem, but had no luck. I found a different issue in the thumbnail render dialog, but had no issues saving simple and complex materials in the local DB, with and without large image textures.

-> If you could give me step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the issue, I'm happy to fix it as soon as possible.

Also, the displayed LiveDB does not get refreshed if I change the actual windows folder structure.

Do you mean the displayed local DB? Yes, that's a current limitation. We will add a refresh button in the future.

When you say it "crashes", do you mean the GPUs fail or do you mean that the Octane application crashes? If the format, could you send me the log after the GPUs failed? Thanks.

Yes, that has been reported before and will be fixed with the next release.

Roughness textures still don't work on the non metallic parts of the metallic material.

This was supposed to be a priority.

Not sure if it is otoy bug or windows 7 service pack 1 When I go to install daemon.bat on my slave i get an error message on my slave Available GPUs"The system cannot execute the specified program ". I tried new drivers nothing helped. When I tried 3.07 version it detected all 5 GPUs fine. What should I do Thanks

Probably a driver issue. To test, please run the Standalone on that machine and check if it detects the GPUs.

My guess is it won't, in which case please install the latest 388.x driver and let me know if it works or not. The current 390 and 391 drivers still have issues with Kepler GPUs.
