(Bucket Mode) I don't care that it cheats, time is money ;) I am very eagerly awaiting denoiser in octane to see quality and how quickly it performs, because I do prefer Octane... but I can't deny Redshift speeds any longer.

Below is a 9 minute 4096 x 2048 render in Octane 3.09 (test 3) that is noise free. Rendered on a laptop (256 OB) and cleaned in real time with the AI denoiser:

That sounds super promising! I can't really tell with the images on Facebook as it is a bit blurry in quality (as de-noise tends to do to textures). Eagerly awaiting to test the AI denoiser, gives me hope!! Can't come soon enough... Thanks :)

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.08 TEST 6 - HDRI issue

Sorry for cross posting, but this issue belongs to 3.08 TEST 6 version too...

Using default setting (16-bit float) for environment HDR texture is not enough in some cases:

That scene issue seems to appear when environment HDRI have large dynamic range (Here the https://hdrihaven.com/hdri/?c=clear&h=flower_road free HDRI was used, 16384x8192 version, with dynamic range 20EVs).
It will be nice to have some kind of warning (if possible) when such images are loaded into scene, something like 'Selected HDR image mode will clip some values'.

I understand wanting to get things right. But taking so long to do so that competitors are consistently ahead is not a good balance.

The development pace is really, really starting to get frustrating.

I couldn't agree with you more. Things get even worse when you compare the amount and pace of releases / updates of other render engines with Octane. No wonder there are so many people switching to other render solutions nowadays...
