Hi BlenderOctaners,
I am pleased to announce that, in a month or so, I will release a new tutorial directed at concept artists and illustrators who would like to learn Blender Octane plugin. This one will focus on landscapes and environments concepts.
Part of it is Jama Jurabaev's workflow adapted to octane nodes.
I will show a lot of usefull nodes that help bringing the assets together. I will also show some usefull tricks I came up with.
here is a little video to give you an idea:
https://youtu.be/JjrlSuaDPeg
The first part will include:
- Importing Surfaces and any assets from Quixel Bridge directly in blender Octane ( with specular and AO, etc...)
- Blending assets with the ground texture, with a controller for scale and size
- Custom node wrangler addon
- Believable and reflective puddles or rivers
- Automatic Assets blending relative to various ground textures
- Procedural blending of multiple textures
- Displacement terrains
all of wich was done on a simple unsubdivided plane.
The next part will cover randomly textured scattered objects, cameras and LUTs, lights, fogs and vdbs, light projections, image emission, Chaos texture node, decals,...
I am half way but I think this will be a very complete node review.
I hope you will like it and don't hesitate to give some feedback here.
