Octane VDB Issue

So Im hoping to leave Cinema 4D Behind but I kept thinking 'what about vdb's, x-particles etc etc?'

So I bust open blender/octane latest build and I tried to upload a VDB. The result had strange artifacts like small polygons on the boundaries. I added a cube in the middle of the vdb and realised im totally doing something wrong.

I looked up some videos showing the method of blender/octane vdb usage but they all used the old method of importing vdbs not using the native blender vdb loader. Any advice would be appreciated.

There's no real difference between the old and new VBD loading method when we come to shading and the available VDB options.
You just need to add the Volume (shift+a) and specify the VDB file path.
Then any tutorial dealing with VDBs in Octane for Blender can be followed without issues.

Your VDB file is loaded fine, but your density/step length/scattering values are probably totally off and need to be adjusted.
