The new scatter on surface node added to Octane Blender from Stand Alone is great but what is its advantage over Blender’s native scatter tools?

For me: mainly that I don`t need to learn-use the whole Blender interface and can have everything inside standalone.

Yes except when I did some quick testing trying to export to ORBX a scene that used the Octane Blender scatter nodes it did not carry over and work in stand alone:

Blender's scatter methods are way more limited and so slow compared to what the Octane Scatter system offers.

Where is that Octane scatter in Blender?

Thanks.
I have a few questions:
1. Why all objects are wrongly rotated( looks like by its local -y up) in Blender?
2. Can I scatter only 4 objects at once and have to dublicate the mesh for another 4 ? what"s the right way to scatter more different things ?
3 Can I keep the surface I scatter things on visible ?

1) That depends on the fact in Blender Y and Z are inverted. Right now the Y axis of the object is aligned to the normal of the "source" mesh. Some days ago I asked for a change so we can transform the scattered objects in item mode and have the clones transformed accordingly. This should help controlling the orientation better.
2) Right now we have the 4 objects limit, but yes, you can use an additional scatter node to add more. Just use a different item.
3) Yes and no. The best way to deal with this is to add a very simple object (like a plane or a box) and use it to "host" the Scatter node. Then you can have separated and independent "Surface" and "Scatter" meshes you can use for scattering. The simple mesh will be hidden, but the items used for scattering (surface and and scatter meshes) will be visible.

My advice is to use our dedicated Facebook group for this kind of questions. It's faster to both ask and answer (not to mention the fact you can find already answered questions, like the ones you wrote here):
