Landon Dou is working on an awesome addon which should help Octane for Blender users to improve their workflow when using Octane for Blender.

Please post you proposals for features and any issue you may find using it.

Download Octane Helper here:

Documents:

    Install the addon from Octane_Helper.zip
Restart Blender if you have installed the add-on before

There are lots of hidden tricks when you use the addon

Examples
- Buttons of the Materials menu can assign a material to all selected objects in object mode or faces in edit mode instead of a single geometry
- Blender materials under the Materials menu can also convert materials of all selected objects from cycles/eevee to octane using the official material converter
- If you wanna move all lights tagged as light using "Mark as light source" into another render layer. Just simply click Environment > Select lights by index [-1] = all lights and click Render > Set render layer id > Done
- Select multiple nodes such as image textures and click "Add Transform and Projection". It will add only 1 projection and 1 transform for all selected image nodes

Feel free to comment

This is fantastic, thanks! My only suggestions thus far:

Anyway to make the helper panel persisting if desired?

Multi-monitor support? I have several monitors but the helper window will not scroll onto them past the main Blender window.

I would personally find it easier to use if DOF and Distortion panels were combined.

Not sure if it's in the scope of the plugin, or if it's more requests for the main octane plugin but here are my 2 :

- Add a viewport popout option that doesn't require the main view port to be set to rendering mode? It makes working on layouts really easy when you can still use the main viewport for layout - especially on dual monitor setup as you can have octane on the 2nd display.

- Have the render options accessible on the toolbar of the octane view port as that's much faster than scrolling through options on the side of the screen.

Screenshot from Modo attached. The Modo octane plugin is really good and I would love to see blender plugin get the same treatment.

Those are definitely feature request not related to the Octane Helper addon.
We already have plans for making the Octane Viewport and its features more "central" to the workflow. It will happen in the future.

Sorry I just saw your message. I don't use forums very often.

The multi-monitor sounds cool. I may try to find out if it's possible. Combining DOF and DIstortion is on my WIP list. Thanks for your advice
