Octane Blender RTX/Optix ETA

Good afternoon (o;

It is been along while I used Octane for Blender as I used mostly in the past Blender 2.80 with E_Cycles...2.80 has just a much nicer user interface (o;

Now I stumbled upon 2019.1.1 - 20.3 version...

But I assume it is still without RTX/Optix support?

Any timeline when RTX/Optix support will be available for testing?
Will the yearly subscription price stay the same?

Hopefully before December 6th as then my subscription runs out (o;

thanks in advance
richard

Evening (o;

Really nobody knows when Optix/RTX support will be available for blender 2.8x plugin?

And somehow the yearly subscription option has disappeared from the shop site...

cheers

Octane RTX support is still in experimental phase. It's available only for Standalone at the moment. Plugins will follow when this changes into Beta/RC phase.

RTX support is in Standalone 2019.2, and it will be available soon as we'll get it integrated in Blender 2.8. It's still in development, so there are some not supported features, but it's getting there.

Ah great to know :-)

I just gave this week Octane Blender 2.8 a shot when it was out supporting more than one GPU (compared to the free tier)...

And from the first impression it just felt snappier than E_Cycles....and renderings look much more realistic....maybe due to the fact Octane isn't using the built-in blender light sources...

If only this constant GPU usage would be gone in preview mode....
Ah and yes...this subscription license lockups are sometimes a pain...wished there would be a way like Blackmagic Design is using...
Like when you restart and no license is left, the older host gets kicked off....

cheers

Hi Richard, to automatically unlock license after exiting Blender, go to it's Preferences > Add-ons > Render: OctaneRender engine >>>> Toggle Release Octane License After Exiting

BTW...would there be a GPU limit with the blender 2.8 subscription license?

Though haven't decided which motherboard would support 3 or 4 GPUs....and no news on the new AMD threadripperCPUs/motherboards (o;
