I set up an object with Subsurface Scattering and it looked as I wanted in Preview mode. When I rendered final image, however, the SSS was not showing up. I exported as ORBX to test in Stand Alone and no SSS was showing there either until I radically changed transmission and medium settings.
I then copied those new transmission and medium settings back to my original Blender file. In Preview mode the SSS showed up this time, but much too saturated and extreme. However when rendered it looked as it did in Stand Alone.
So something is happening between how Octane Blender shows SSS when in preview mode and in final rendering. Either this is a bug, or there is something odd going on in my file causing this issue.
The last test I tried was importing the ORBX from Stand Alone with the adjusted settings into Octane Blender as a proxy file. Only then did the preview and rendered versions match. As far as I can tell all my color and imaging preferences are set up correctly and as I usually do. I even set the preview imager to override to ensure preview and render are using the same settings.
Can devs look into this? The file was created in Blender Octane 2019 and uses Vectron displacement node, but issue is also occurring in version 2018.
