This configuration looks ok. Is your computer still less responsive with this setup?

It seems better, but even though I have this setup, typing this message with a Render preview going is really slow.


I think I need to tell my Nvidia software to have Google run through the 970.

Also, the file I was having the most trouble with uses a few particle emitters. But it seems happier now.

I have never used the StandAlone.
What am I missing?

Just test it and observe if the system lags too while rendering in Standalone.

Hi JC,
Can't get to the Standalone now as I am working on a deadline.

In doing so, getting booted off the Render Server over and over during Render Preview when editing.

Sequence:
edits with Preview
Lose Preview
Z key
restart OctaneRender Server
Z key
Shift+Z Key..

Somewhere behind the Blender interface, if I view my desktop, I can usually find the "Error binding socket......5131..." message.

Big hassle.

Any help? Much needed, thanks.

Hi JC,
Blender is not crashing.
The server is dropping the connection, mainly during edits to a model or shader.
The error message is basically hidden unless I minimize Blender.

I don't think anything else is sharing the port.
I do have Octaner Render for Carrara, but it is not running when this happens.

Did you update your GPUs and motherboard drivers?
Can you share the scene for a test?
