Normal is not working properly

I cannot say this is an bug, but I hope the result can be promoted.

The object above the surface plane is seperated from the surface by using Shrinkwrap and DataTransfer modifiers with corresponding vertex groups. In the viewport, it seems like two objects are connected. But Octane render dosenot give correct response, and even regardless of the sharp edges

Looks like it's Octane issue. Cycles looks better but after adding Subdivision modifier.
It would be better if you modelled it properly to avoid such issues.

BlenderOctane still can't "see" the effect of the Data Transfer Modifier.

It would be very important to have it fixed (developers are aware of this, and it's on their ToDo list).
