Running Octane 3 and 4?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to have both the latest stable Octane and the new Octane 4 version installed? I assume the blender version itself is not an issue but what about the octane server etc. ?

Yes, why not. Put them into separate folders and you are good to go :)

Not knowing how to do this safely is preventing me from testing 4... possibly some other, too.

@JC @Azen - would you mind providing a step-by-step guide for how to install the V4 server, Blender plugin, Standalone without overwriting stable versions?

Thanks in advance.

You can install one version like 15.2.5, create a folder, copy installed version and server to it. Install v4. Run both at any time.

What i normally do is use a specific folder name during the installation process of both Blender and Server.

For version 4 I always use "BlenderOctane4" and "OctaneServer4".

Work great for me too. Just add a "4" to the installation folders like Lino suggested.

Thanks, everyone - it seems obvious now. I have different versions installed and running smoothly.

The only consideration is to have a shortcut to the different server versions so you can start the correct one, when needed.
