It always worked...
You can either substract color:

or use it directly ("Invert absorption" option):

BTW, will release 10.5 soon today with a fix of your animation problem...

Awesome, thanks Jimstar, I was probably using the wrong node. I will test tonight. :)

Hi Jimstar,

I found the invert check to affect the smoke in a strange way, making it somehow darker. does it also invert the saturation?

With the plugin fixed for animation I created a quick video of the smoke, and changed the color. :)

smoke-test1.png

stats:

scale: 100
step len: 0.5
absorption: 0.3
scattering: 0.3

volume properties from the object data tab:

iso: 1
absorption scale: 500
scatter scale: 500

I should add that I let it render to 500 samp/px.

Do you mind sharing this scene file?

Hello,

Sorry to hijack this forum as I don't use the plug-in :-) After looking for a not expensive solution to generate smoke simulation I installed Blender yesterday.

I followed a tutorial to generate smoke and baked/exported (vdb format) to Octane stand alone : after some tries and error, it worked and I must say that Blender is not so difficult I was thinking ! That give me new possibilities to improve my renders.

But with "fire" and exactly the same process : imported object doesn' t render in Octane (default volume medium material) and with fire + smoke: it seems that I only have the smoke.

Can someone confirm it or tell me what I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks for your help

Hi Smaker,

JimStar said some time ago, that the vdb attributes in blender are somewhat different than usual and it is not yet completely implemented the right way.
If this is still the case I don't know. So, for now only smoke no fire from blender :)
