Odd error when exporting

I've had this problem a number of times and nearly every time it results in me having to abandon a project and start anew simply because I can't work out what is going wrong. I am using Lionel's wonderful export script to export from Blender to Octane (still the best way to interface the two programs).

I am getting the following error.
Capture.JPG

Anyone got an idea? Before anyone asks, the render has exported and rendered a number of times. I can't remember what I did to the model to cause it to do this but it is obviously objecting to something about my .blend.

Cheers

I have no idea if this will help or not, but it's a Python error. The script (Python) is expecting that there are children (or association) for an inputnodepin. I suspect that you don't have something hooked up right. I would double check your textures.

I had another thought too. Now that the plugin is not being maintained, it may not work with the newer versions of Blender. You might be trying to use a feature that the plugin can't handle. Just some more thoughts. :)

Hi Grimm,

As I said, it has rendered several times already.

In the end I did as I have done before and just copied everything to a new scene and it worked. I've had the same error several times so I guess in future I will just have to do this. Seems like something in the blender scene just breaks.

Thanks for looking

i've had this happen to me, I forget exactly what caused it.

I think I may have had a material looking for a texture that didn't exist. Wasn't same error, but had the "none type" message.

maybe the "children" is your clue.

the nonetype i think means that there is something pointing to something that doesnt exist, I could be wrong though.

Seems odd that you can copy everything to a brand new scene and it works.

I can't even remember what I did to cause it to break but I don't think that it was anything really significant. I think it is the .OCS that breaks. I think that I tried recreating the .OCS and it worked. It was a few days back so it has faded in my dodgy memory :)
