Materials for OR4B

Hi,

until the online material library is available, would anyone please put material blend's here
so we can see the node setup? I tried using just the value input boxes for the material,
but not getting SSS yet.

I tried using the info in the StandAlone User Manual on Medium nodes, but just don't
understand the process of creating and hooking up nodes. I'm hoping it will just "click"
sometime and be perfectly clear.

But in the mean time, please put some materials here so we can see how they're
constructed.

Thanks! :)

Apparently nobody cares.

Disappointed in this forum. It should be a great place to
get help, help others, share stuff, learn to use Blender Octane, e.g.
BlenderArtists.org.

??? :(

My guess is, its still to early to say "nobody" would care ;)

learning how these new Nodes work is taking a lot of time due to experimenting,

mushroom and nodes.png

here this one is with a bump- and a diff- map,
the Octane RGBs connected to the Marble + turbulence can create some additional Variance and you are less forced to change the lights which are in your scene.
this setting is not really complex but it did its job. :)

Hi myclay! Glad to be proved wrong. :)

I'm still working on SSS Jade. I thought I could do it with just the
"rollout" settings (vs nodes).

BTW, can you please attach the blend so we can use the mat?

Thanks! ;)

Here is the Material (without Model, bump and dif texture)
since you can´t upload the files directly, I used Dropbox.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vbr0lqmgn9x4nom/Mushroom%20Material.blend

the SSS creation is not well documented, because the given Picture in the documentation doesn´t show where it has to be socked into, hopefully you are able to solve the mystery around that. :)

JimStar is working on the LiveDB Material Library, so I'll just wait for that. ;)

Then I can see the settings & node setup for SSS, Metals, Stone, etc.

But thanks myclay for sharing the 'rooms. :)

Yep, there is a lot of work with LiveDB.;)
As there are no standard means in Blender to implement the decent dynamic user-interface for working with such a special complex and dynamic data over the net... So, I was forced to implement the additional universal Blender space-editor type which will be capable to work with different material database sources (later with local sources too)...
So, still working so far...
