Specifying which GPUs in exporter

Has anyone had luck passing which graphics cards to use? Every time I try to enable this button, Octane crashes on export from Blender. I'd like to be able to use both of my graphics cards when I am rendering animations, but I can't seem to get them to work using the exporter.

The same happens for me. This was already noted and the Blender exporter maintainer is working on it.

Specify your graphic cards within Octane - File/Device manager
(read the manual)

Matej-
Thanks for the reply. I've tried to export the file, set my preferences, and the close and reopen, specifying which cards to use. But when I save it and close it, it doesn't seem to want to retain the cards I specified.

If Chiascuro is working on it, I look forward to the next release!

Thanks!

Mmm, never heard about that problem before, I'll check the command line parameters but it should work, unfortunately I have only one card for now. Did you have the problem with the 2.2 version or the current pre 2.3 ?

As I said, the same happens for me - Octane crashes on startup if that button is enabled (I posted this problem in the exporter testing thread). I have only one card.

Yeah, indeed the problem occures if you have only one card, I may be wrong but this is an Octane issue and unfortunately I can't test the amount of cards in the script to avoid the selection of that option, anyway, there is no reason to select that option if you have only one card ;)

Enrico-
I haven't had the time to download 2.3. Is there an easy link that I have somehow overlooked? I'd be happy to try.

I guess the question should really be: what do I write in that box next to the GPU button contained in the exporter? Do I take the name from what I'm seeing in the Octane Device Manager? Do I separate by a semicolon? Or do I pass on the text I see about the video card in the lower right hand corner of the Render Viewport?

Either way, let me take the time to thank you for doing this exporter. It's a real pleasure to be on the 'cutting edge' of GPU acceleration!

Found 2.3 (sorry, getting used to the Octane site; I've only been using it 12 days). I'll test it out this evening.

Of course, but software developers must assume that users will do anything in their power to crash the program :D

Ok, so if you select the multi GPU option in the script you simply should put the list of GPUs to use in the field beside separated by space, for example if you have 2 cards and want to use all of them just put 0 1, if you want to use the second, just put 1
