Navigation/rotation problem

Hi,
I am new to Octane and I am also using Sketchup. I installed sketchup exporter and tried to export some models. In sketchup my model can be easily rotated - horizon is always straight. In octane it is so difficult to rotate my object - horizon changes every time I move mouse holding left button. How can I rotate my models and prevent straight horizon? And why my model is not rotating around the origin (as in sketchup) but around some unknown point?

Please help,

Sebastian

Is you main model geometry placed near the origin in the SKP?
If it were made from a CAD file it might be miles away and cause issues.
Is you geometry strangely large or small in size ?
If the model transfers from SKP to OCS as expected you'll need to practice orbiting in Octane as it's somewhat different from SKP or some other apps...

Hi TIG,
thank you for reply. I found a solution to my problem - I set "UP" values to 0 1 0 for X Y Z respectively.
Everything else works perfectly.

Regards,

I'm having this issue too. What did you do to set the axis to 0,1,0? I used the axis tool to change the axis a few times without success.

Other than that, sketchup and the exporter are awesome tools to quickly make interior spaces.

Find "UP" (below "TARGET") in mesh preview camera and set these values.

Ahh.

I'm not in front of my computer right now, but I think this is in octane, I was looking in sketchup.
