I'm going to sound like a broken record here but

- STABILITY IS KEY -

I guess any new additions to features are pointless if crashes make the plug unusable...About a dozen crashes today - mostly when making new geometry.

- Material Picker seems not to recognize the material. It uncollapses all materials in node stack.

- Pressing STOP you have to exit to SU and restart render from scratch. Cannot press any other key (like play)

Often when starting a NEW file it cause a SU BUG SPLAT.

Hi guys,
thanks for your constant feedback.
The Material Picker issue is already under investigation.
About the Stop button, that's how Octane works, by pressing it, all the GPUs are empty out, but you just need to press the Octane Logo to resend the scene. No need to close anything.
Happy testing,

Sorry Man!.
Another bug here.

Engine doesn't render some groups / components
(see Pictures)
Solved exploding them.

===========================

Now finally we have local DB, but all assigned materials inside Octane Engine are lost closing render window or pressing stop button ... each time. DOH!

Getting a weird base texture tearing. Almost like z-fighting when applying the material node - happened with diffuse, glossy mix, and specular. (didn't try portal)

materialTearing.jpg

Applying an image with BOX UV projection fixes it. But if the texture is removed, the tearing comes back (tested in Standalone from SU2017Make Octane ORBX export)

Interestingly the ORBX file has 2 material nodes?! Thought it was that at first, but I think its the fact that sketchup doesn't have native uv handling.

Thanks Rich, are you on SU 16 or 17? Were you just making geometry with the line tool?

Hi,
oops sorry, I forgot to mention that this happens because the plugin is losing the connection with the SU material. To workaround the issue, please transform any default Glossy material into a Mix Material:
Screen Shot 2017-05-27 at 12.06.00.jpg

Then copy/paste, or create your own material, and connect it to both the materials pins of the mix material:
su3.6.1_03.JPG

Finally save the SU scene, in this way the connection is not lost, and the material is correctly saved.
Happy rendering :)

Sorry Cap I didn't mention - SU17, Win 10. Yeah creating simple solid geo with the line tool then grouping, mostly happens when copying/pasting between groups or components - though I'll also get crashes when applying a new material sometimes.

I have added some general informations about this version and Lua scripts in this other discussion.

Happy rendering :)
