Development Excitement

Acknowledging there's been some bad vibes on this forum for a while - I'd just like to jump in and let the dev. team know there are those of us out there who are very much looking forward to the next big update of this plugin. The speed and quality of the Octane engine (even with the somewhat debilitating bugs) has allowed me to shave hours off project deadlines over the past year or so - so I'm hanging in there...I'm confident that once this thing is solidified it'll be a go-to for many.

That being said - would be great to get a quick update of progress if possible also ;)

Best,

- Rich

They are fooling you around - sorry to say it - but for about 2 years they've done nothing I asked for.

Oh - make no mistake I'm 100% ready to jet back to C4D if there is no significant news before Xmas (and will be following up with ol' Billy Brooks) but just wanted to send the dev team some love ;)

I might jump in here now with an update - CC has completed 2017 support (signed off) and is releasing this within the next few hours.

The other big piece of news is that we pushed ahead with the Octane node graph changes as was requested by many. We now have a version of this that we are testing internally, and we are in the process of having some testing done by a third party Skp expert. Once we have identified and fixed any issues, and made any necessary workflow changes, then we will release a test build to you, for which we would like to gather some feedback, and make any further changes before we promote this to stable.

The most significant change is that octane material editing has been consolidated to the octane node graph editor. The result is that you can make changes to your material in the node graph editor (which is identical to how it would be in Standalone), and this will be saved with your sketchup scene. When you export to Standalone, these materials will also prevail.

Of course, any comments and suggestions, please do let us know!
