An Update on Development

Hi,

Just wanted to update you all about a shift in development focus that is coming into play. From here on in, development on the Mac OSX port for the SU plugin will be suspended in favor of completing work on the features you have all been asking for. It is fair to say that you have waited long enough for this to happen, and we do apologize for that. The first big task currently being developed is the Nodal approach, with more high-demand features to follow. It should go without saying, that improvements to stability, and updated support for the latest standalone version as it is release, will continue to be a constant process alongside the development of these features.

I have made reference, on a number of posts, to the work being done on the Mac OSX port of the Sketchup plugin. The rationale was to get Mac and Windows users on a level plane before developing any further features. The major challenge there was Flash dependencies, which will require significant reworking of the interfaces. Apart from that, everything else about the plugin should port fine - it is only the interface implementation that needs to be reworked (since there is no way to get the Flash-based implementation working on Mac). We are confident that new features added into the Windows build now, will work as expected in the future Mac port as well. Therefore, getting those features to you ASAP is the absolute number one priority for the near future.

Cheers,
Azen
