Material Blacking and Lighting Issues

I am having trouble rendering the turquoise pieces through the glass (they are exterior). They are rendered almost completely black and I want them to "pop" more, even if it isn't completely realistic. Also the light doesn't seem to penetrate the space much no matter what I do to the settings. The render is just so blasé and I do not know what to do to improve it. I'm still trying to retain the abstractness. The model came from sketchup...

Also not necessary, how can I do artificial lighting from sketchup? I can make a special material that I tel octane to "glow" or emit light?

Thanks for any help guys.

Do you have the faces in that piece the right way round ? This is 'face' to the camera?

You can't give materials 'light emitting qualities' or 'bumps' etc in SUp [at the moment] - although it might be future enhancement...
Let's get 'transparency' of new materials working on their import to Octane first [that's currently on RS's side]...
