Here's beta.z
Octane_1022z.zip
(626.32 KiB) Downloaded 249 times
It addresses the problems between PC and MAC OS's and the dialog's 'populate' code...
There are now very similar but separate .html files for each OS.
Hopefully this will now give us a fully functioning PC and MAC version...

All users should upgrade to the latest version.

Feedback please...

This must be the final beta version - we are now at the end of the alphabet  ;)

Hi!
I can't see any difference between Y and Z... it works but the UI issues are still there:
Schermata 2010-07-19 a 23.09.33.png

I also noticed that the render use a texture environment (float) even if the "export sun position" is checked by default in the exporter; if I uncheck it and check it again the render starts correctly with daylight

We can live with that anyway, TIG... we got our plugin and it works quite well already. I can imagine how hard is doing these fine tuning without having a Mac to test it directly.

now what's next... are you going to go the Excel way (1.022AA, AB, etc.) or are you waiting for the new beta 1.023? ;)

I am disappointed that the MAC version is still so flaky

I'd like some feedback from PC users that at least their version is working fine [it should be] :?:

I've now split the PC/MAC versions of the html code for the dialog, so it might make the debugging of the MAC side easier.
The MAC is clearly failing to 'populate' the dialog properly...
I'll prepare an alternative html and issue just that so MAC users - as an alternative to the one included with this beta [Z]...
Then if you [SurfingAlien/Burkhard et al] can try swapping them arouns we might get nearer to a solution...

Incidentally does the file-browser dialog work acceptably on the MAC now ?

This is for MAC testers only...

Just a thought... MAC users... IF you have saved the SKP after the 'Octane Render' dialog incorrectly checked various settings then these will get remembered with the SKP if you have saved it. Therefore even if the thing is populating properly things will appear checked - you need to test with a new SKP that has no settings saved in it to get a true picture of what's happening...***

Here's a zipped version of a new MAC html file, revised to see if the main dialog's 'populate' can be sorted.
OctaneDialogMAChtml.zip
(2.77 KiB) Downloaded 221 times
Can MAC testers please extract it and put it into their ../Plugins/Octane/ folder in place of the original file.
Then restart SUp*** with and try the 'Octane Render' tool again - and report if/how it's working.

The dialog shouldn't have scrollbars - the font that the MAC is using for the 'titles' seems to be too big and thereby causes the info to 'overflow'. I have adjusted the css part of the html to try and help with this too...

MAC users - feedback please...

Hi TIG,

with previous PC exporter version I'm still had problem in exporting tree. Some of my trees are no leafs at all so what I left only branches for those trees.

Can you show me where to fix that problem.

Forgive me if I what no keep track but is that normal now all spectacle materials are turned to diffuse.

Thanks TIG.

By default all exported materials should now be 'flat' as SUp has no inbuilt 'specularity' settings.
An earlier error in the coding did give some materials specularity - this is now fixed.
You have to adjust 'specularity', transparency etc in the Octane settings.
If you have an OCS that previously had the materials loaded and they had specularity by error these do not get changed on a relink - it is Octane's way of protecting any changes you have made to your settings since the first 'link' tot he obj/mtl. A new OCS will correctly set everything at the offset...

Without having your tree SKP to test I can't comment as to why the leaves might get missed off - are they images ? The exporter only uses face geometry, in the model or inside groups and components - I can update it to include images - wait for the next update...
