SketchUp Exporter fields are blank

Hi all,

I have downloaded and installed the exporter as per the readme into the plugins folder of my SU 8 installation. Everything appears to be in the right place until I run the exporter. On first start I get asked for the Octane Binary which I locate and then the exporter dialog opens but all fields are blank.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both SU and the plugin without success. Any ideas?

At first I thought maybe pushing the Export OBJ/MTL button might export the model at default settings but nothing happens.

Running Win 7 Pro 64, GTX 480, 12 GB, primary browser Chrome.

Hopefully I've just missed something simple.

Thanks in advance.

Open a saved SKP
Open Window > Ruby Console.
Run the Exporter.
Close the Exporter window
Are there any error messages in the Console?
If so copy/paste post them.

It looks like your version of IE [a PC SUp uses that even if you use Chrome!] is not running the full html used to make the webdialog.
What version of IE is installed?
Do you have javascript disabled ?
Do you have 'deBabelizer.rb' installed in the Plugins folder.
Are you sure that you have full access-rights*** to the Sketchup Plugins folder and that Windows is not putting seemingly installed files/folders into a 'Compatibility Files' subfolder to protect you from yourself !
***Right-click its icon > Properties > Security... ensure you have FULL rights to the folder and its contents/subfolders.
[Also a good idea to have full rights to the Materials, Components and Styles folders]
Try a reinstall of the latest toolset from the zip file...

Thanks for the reply TIG,

After I posted I found another thread where you had helped a user with the same problem. Unfortunately I still seem to be stuck.
Ruby Console reports nothing
IE version is 9.0.8112.16421
Javascript enabled
I have full permissions to all folders listed below
No evidence of a Compatibility Files folder
deBabelizer.rb is installed correctly
A cleanout and fresh install has been done - no result

I have also set Chrome as my default app for all things webby in Control Panel, but no diff.
I will try a setup on my laptop to see if I have any joy there and report back.

Thanks

If I recall the earlier issue I recoded the html file because a Safari update [MAC's equivalent to IE] changed the way innerHTML etc was handled and broke the dialog's 'population'.
BUT the latest html code + the Ruby's javascript should work fine, with both current versions of IE and Safari.
Having Chrome set as your default browser should be of no importance because IE is used anyway [I have Firefox as my browser...]

There must be an issue somewhere in your system's setup :?

Please report back after the laptop test asap...
