We need to wait for stable 2021.1 SDK to have both Metal and CUDA versions on the same page.

Happy Mac GPU rendering,
ciao Beppe

Is this now available? The tab for colour management is missing in settings so can't see how to install this on Octane X for Mac. Is there a way around this? Aces is crucial to my workflow :(

Out of curiosity, how so?
Are you part of a larger production pipeline from which the color pipeline is ACES based, across other studios or perhaps, a client is requesting to conform to it? Genuinely asking.

Since I started using aces the quality of my renders dramatically improved, now without it it's really frustrating to not be able to produce that quality of work. I know that you can use luts etc but it's just not the same :/

Hi altestudio,
I have already answered you here:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=79905&p=412896#p412892

Anyway, about OCIO/ACES support, it is not available for Metal Intel/AMD.

OctaneX PR versions are still based on 2020.1.5 SDK, with some addictions, while OCIO/ACES support has been added in 2020.2 SDK, in the CUDA version.

OCIO/ACES support for Metal is available only in the first alpha version for OctaneX Standalone based on 2022.1-XB1 SDK:
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=79602

This is the first OctaneX version in pair with Octane CUDA SDK, but it works only with Apple Silicon M1.

We are expecting to have the first c4doctaneX 2022.1-XB2 M1 plugin in the coming weeks, also compatible with R26.

ciao,
Beppe

ACES is unnecessary for the vast majority of individuals/users, if not all of them. The subject is partially covered in the links from this thread-reply: viewtopic.php?f=101&t=78635&p=405831#p405831

I'd strongly suggest to look into it. Simpler workflow (without ACES) while looking pleasantly similar (virtually the same) is possible. Feel free to message me here. I am also reachable on Discord ELSKSA#4465 if you need some guidance.
