Octane preventing C4D from closing.

I'm running C4D Studio r18 with Octane v 4. Whenever I attempt to quit Cinema the program locks up and I'm required to force quit. Sometimes I get, "The plugin c4dOctane-R18,cdl64 has crashed" and a bug report that I've attached.

I've removed all other plugins and narrowed the issue down to octane.

Thank you!

I frequently get the same behavior...a crash on quit. I conveyed the error to Maxon and they said it was Octane that was causing the error.

I have wondered if I get the error but others may not... is because I have customized my layout with Octane buttons and controls, but that is just a hunch.

I had a similar issue as you when the previous version of octane. Once I switched my layout to the default standard startup layout c4D would close fine. Now nothing helps.

I also noticed in the bottom left hand corner of Cinema 4D it says "Octane:closeAll()" while it's frozen attempting to close

Could you please mind to share layout of C4d? I can fix if there is a problem. But need the know what causes that.

Layout that gets recurring periodic crashes...on quit (dropbox link)

It doesn't crash every time...but 5-10 times a week.

I use 3 monitors and have a variety of layouts I use. This layout is for 2 monitors.

I crashed on exit again here this morning. Attached is a c4d crash log. Actually I'm a bit more concerned as I worry a work file might get corrupted on exit.

Unlike the original poster I don't "hang" on quit...but I do crash on quit. Frequently.

Activate a log options of scene and send me c4doctanelog.txt if it crashes. Also give me some better information how you produced that! What was you doing before that? Did you have any render in LV?

I had not used Live Viewer at all, nor any Octane objects/features during that particular work session. The quit-crashes do not seem to reflect whether I've actually used Octane in that session...or not. This is why I have suspected that integration of Octane into my custom layouts might be related to the issue.

I'll try to send you a octane log next time.
