c4d to octane with .abc (alembic)

Hello,

I'm doing cars pack-shot advertising.

I would like to shade and light in Octane standalone.

My first manipulation is to clean the hierarchy and setup (materials attribution) in C4D.
But, if I export the complex model cars (5k objects) in .abc, the Octane node doesn't have any materials.

I looked for precedent post on this subject but didn't find.

How to configure C4D or Octane for that result :

Many thanks,

Benjamin

I thought Alembic format didn't include any materials / textures....

Hi,
you need to assign polygon selections with material names, to have them in Alembic/Standalone.
In R20, you can assign your materials, bake to Alembic, and you should have all the correct tags automatically.
