AMD GPU / Mac etc

Hi,

What is the current state of AMD/Mac support ? Is AMD ever going to be supported or we can just forget about it ?
If anyone has detailled information, would love to hear

We’ve actually gotten a large chunk of Octane 2019 working on the framework we showed in March (VK/Metal backend), and Octane 2019 releases will ship with more and more pieces we can now offload to AMD/Intel/iOS GPUs, but until we have ported every line of CUDA in Octane, you may still need at least one NV GPU for all features to work. We’ll post regular progress updates as we get further into these releases.

This is becoming more and more of an issue with the fact that we’re this far into Mojave still without a supported NVIDIA Driver for it. Are entire render office has held off updating because of this.

As a long time Mac user I really do feel your pain. We’ve been doing nearly superhuman work on our end since 2015 to make Mac a viable option. Hopefully the Mohave situation will be sorted out by Apple and NVIDIA soon.

Thank you Otoy from the bottom of my heart, for all the efforts to support OS X. I cannot imagine C4d on Mac without Octane.

Sounds awesome, thanks ! I've been waiting for so long to switch ecosystem, the only remaining thing is Octane...
