Hey dear users, hi dear Ahmet,
we talked about that already some time ago on facebook - I still have an issue which starts to annoy me. And there must be a way to solve it.
I am talking about a scene which simply does not open in R18 + newest octane. In R17 with and an old version of Octane everything opens as expected.
I found out that when removing the materials, everything opens nicely, so I guess the problem is caused by any or all the octane materials. To prove my point, I attached a scene with no geometry, but only materials in the material manager. Maybe it helps to find out, what happens here. http://www.philmaron.de/privat/02_klebl-ani_v2_006_jalou-v2_nogeo.c4d
Desperate regards
Phil
Edit:
A C4D-Material node called "Colorizer" inside my Octane Materials caused a crash in combination with Cinema's Substance engine. Resolved by using Octane's "Gradient" node instead. Have no script to change the nodes, had to open in old Cinema and replace via hand. Nonetheless: Don't use Colorizer
Edit 2:
Long saving times and crashes when saving are caused by "save for melange" in the Cinema 4d preferences. It is a necessary feature for better interaction via CineWare in AfterFX, but should be disabled most of the time. If the error occurs in connection with Octane or randomly is hard to tell so far, but check on that aswell!
