Picture Viewer Render slower than Live Viewer

Hey guys,

I'm an Octane newb, but really trying to figure this out and any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm working with a 240 frame camera push through a castle interior. Everything is static in the scene. I watched Dobromir Dyankov's tut on optimizing my scene, and got the render time (in the Octane Live Viewer) down to 73 seconds.

When I send the animation to Picture viewer, my render time jumps to 128 seconds/frame.

Here's the scene I'm rendering:

Here are my PV render settings:

Can't access my Octane render settings as I'm finishing up a render as I type, but here are a few details:
- Pathtracing mode
- 2048 Samples
- Diffuse Depth = 8
- Specular Depth = 0

My Computer Specs:
- Win 7
- Intel i7-5930K @ 3.50 GHz
- 64GB RAM
- 2 GTX 1080s

Thanks for your time.

Are you considering export and update times also?

Just a silly question: have you checked that Picture viewer and Live Viever works with the same resolution?

I'm exporting a tiff sequence. Would that affect the export time? Also, what do you mean by update time?

If I render frame 135 in the Live Viewer window (0% - 100%), it takes 73 seconds. When I send that frame to live viewer, it takes 128 seconds (0% - 100%).

Thank you for your help.

How would I do this? I can't find a Live Viewer resolution dialog anywhere.

Got it. Yes, they're the same resolution. I also checked the TIFFs I exported. Is this a behavior that is normal? Or am I just throwing too much at the Picture Viewer? It's a scene with 2 big area lights, and 8 small lights.

Is the render immediately starting when you press start button in Live viewer? There should be some collect/preperation and update phases before first pixel rendered in the renderer.
