Materials saving/importing

Hello everyone.

I saved a few materials and would like to import them to be used on another scene.(Through the save/import materials in CINEMA4D menu)

Everything goes well, they are imported just fine, however, i lose the referencing on mix materials, so i have to drag them into their slots again.

Another thing that i loose is the texture paths.

Does anybody know how to successfully import export materials so they won't lose their paths and remember their place inside mix materials.

Cheers!

method 1- assign all materials to a null, and copy/paste null to other scene.
method 2- save your materials to livedv->localdb, import to other scene from localdb

Searching the manual(s), I cannot find how to save materials to localdb - can you point me to where those instructions are? Thank you.

It's new. You can create categories from standalone or plugin. Select localdb as others. Right click menu on material area. create new categories. Later drop down your octane materials to material area. Or do similar actions in standalone.

It's not possible for mixmaterials. Go with localdb. Your materials will be visible from standalone and other octane plugins too.

Aoktar, is it possible to change the preview of a material in the localDB (by an other image), like in the content browser.

Example:

I'll second that and also ask if its possible to have a different material preview in the C4D material manager. a sphere isn't really suitable for edge effects and such. a shaderball would be much better

Thx,
Guy
