hey, after some time and triggered by the update i wanted to try the exporter and octane. but i get an error message telling me "could not launch octane"

the OctaneRender Path is set correctly, and project path and such is there, too.

hope someone can help me with this.

The only help I can give you is that it must be a thing on your system.
I thought it´s maybe because they changed something in Octane Standalone. But I just tried it to see and it worked as it always did.
The only thing I can say is to make sure you set the OctaneRender Path correctly (But you already wrote you did) :-(

Just would like to say "Thank you" for this exporter plugin. I needed a simple method to be able to import zbrush models with subtools into octane and couldn't find a decent way to get different materials for every subtool in octane. By going through cinema4d with your exporter, it all gets taken care of and I didn't have to buy the integrated plugin just to use cinema4d as a gateway ;)

I'm still using Cinema 4D R10.1 version. The biggest question for me is:
-)Is exporter for C4D R10.1 in development or rather 0.12b version is the last released for old C4D versions...

OK, now after 1,5 month of silence in this thread in know that plugin for old C4D (R10) is dead....just great...

Sorry, didn't see your post. There isn't much more that can be added to the exporter functionality, since the way how data can be exported to Octane is fairly limited. I have a few minor improvements done, but nothing major and I got the instancing export done only half way. Since Ahmet's plugin integrates Octane very well into C4D I thought it's not worth putting any work into it anymore.

Wow! Thank you for your response. I know that this exporter is old and almost all people around world are using newer version of Cinema 4D (R12+). But i don't have any chance to use newer version.
What about plugin - is chance to better connection between C4D materials and Octane shaders?
Last time i made project of some synthesizer (some virtual model instrument), i made materials for this model in C4D (diffuse, reflection, transparency, speculars) - without bitmaps.
After export to Octane Standalone (OBJ all materials was totally different:( All speculars, reflections, transparency parameters i had to set again from scratch.
I don't know what possibilities are able to covert C4D shaders to Octane shaders:( maybe it's already done but my exports (obj) are wrong.

Hi,

I'm using Octane render 1.2 with Octane exporter for C4D (R12) for a while on a IMac under Maverick.
After trying the beta versions of Octane, (1.26, 1.27) I came back to version 1.20 (cannot save my old material with version 1.26, 1.27)

Now, I cannot export correctly my scenes from C4D to Octane.

It looks that it is a camera problem.

I remove all octane programs and reinstall version 1.2 and plugin 0.12b with the same problems.

Is it a way to restart to a fresh installation of Octane and the plugin, or what parameter have I to change to go back to normal?
