I am looking for a way to shape the spot light into a jet flame like form.

Not with SpotLight, but with a cone and medium node with emission:

If you use the c4d Volume workflow in fog mode, with an Octane Object tag, you can have a more detailed result.

thank you! I fear I need a bit more realism. A good faked flame is hard to achive in Octane it seems
