Alembic & Vertex Speed crash

Hello, I am trying to add motionblur to an imported Alembic file through using the objecttag and vertex speed, unfortunately this contineously makes Octane crash (C4D R23). Any ideas here?
Log:
OctaneRender Enterprise 2020.2.3 (10021500)
CUDA error 702 on device 3: the launch timed out and was terminated
-> failed to wait for event
device 3: path tracing kernel failed
CUDA error 702 on device 0: the launch timed out and was terminated
-> failed to wait for event
CUDA error 702 on device 1: the launch timed out and was terminated
device 0: path tracing kernel failed
-> failed to wait for event
device 1: path tracing kernel failed
CUDA error 702 on device 2: the launch timed out and was terminated
-> failed to wait for event
device 2: path tracing kernel failed

Thanks!

Hi,
the specific error message is related to Timeout issue.
What happens is that the Windows system instantly disable the GPU drivers, if it does not receive a signal after some seconds.
By default the TdrDelay is set to 2s, i.e. if one kernel call takes more than 2s, Windows kills the driver.
If you install the Standalone via installer, it changes some Windows registry to better work with GPU Rendering.

The Standalone installer sets these values:

WriteRegDWORD HKLM "SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers" TdrLevel 3
WriteRegDWORD HKLM "SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers" TdrDelay 10jh

Some Win 10 users have set the TdrDelay at 60, to solve their stability issues with CUDA.

To manually change the TdrDelay, please have a look at here:

Hi,
yes it is, but, if you don't want to do the manual procedure, you can start by installing Octane Standalone for starting with TdrDelay sets to 10"
If I remember well, if you install Substance painter, it will change the TdrDelay to 60".

Hey there folks!

I am desperate hitting with this error too! (Error 702) And clients do not wait or care about this!

I already change the TDR registry manually and it did not work!
Got back to older driver versions - Failed
Got back to older OR versions - Failed

Using C4D R23, OR 2020 2.4 R2
x2 1080ti
x1 980ti
Win 10
Version 10.0.19043 Build 19043
Latest Nvidia Driver 471.41

Please help! Deadlines are hitting me really soon!
This cannot be possible!

Tom Glimps helped me to stabilize my system like 3 years ago with V4 and NEVER failed... I never updated anything! It worked perfectly!
This time I upgrade to V2020 and it's been a completely caos for me!

Do not know if someone could kindly help me to render my project in case I could not find a solution! I am in a really tight situation!

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
in my opinion, the issue is caused by 980ti GPU.
It is an issue to have mixed Maxwell and Pascal GPUs, because you cannot install Studio, but only Game Ready version of Nvidia driver.
Better to have only Maxwell, while it is not an issue to mix Pascal, Touring and Ampere GPUs, in the same machine.

Please try to completely disable the 980Ti, and work only with Pascal 1080ti GPUs, performing a clean installation of latest Studio Nvidia driver.

To perform a clean installation, please follow these steps:
