Softimage Lights + Render Channels

This has probably been discussed in the past but I couldn't find any precise info.

I'm wondering if and/or how the default Softimage lights work with Octane? Loading up an IES profile in the light's color doesn't do anything.

Also, for the render channels; What's the workflow to render out an EXR with all the render channels available? (Occlusion, Depth, Normal, etc)

Thanks and sorry if this has been discussed before and/or if this information is already somewhere else.

Only solution I have found for the render channels is to use the Info Channel rendering and output the Normal + Zdepth manually. Is this the only way?

Sorry for the late reply,
Haven´t become a message for new posts.

Softimage lights won´t work because Octane haven´t light objects.
You can build a geometry and add a texture/blackbody emitter to it.
In the teture port, you can plug an IES light.

Sometimes, it will be included to create a light and the plugin will create a invisible geometry with the right textures inside the render engine.
Like a spot or a area light.

Render channels aren´t supported by the Octane renderer with v1.55.
You will only have one beauty pass.

V3 will have it, but it will work a little bit different.
Different because Octane can render all channels at once, so there is mostly no need to render out different passes.
But you can, if needed.
You have only to check in the render options, which channel you need and which should be shown in the render preview/pass/region.

This is the next missing part i will included now.

Sorry, a mistake.
The IES texture comes in the distribution port of the emission shader.

Perfect thanks a lot ! I managed to render out the channels separately using the Info Channels. They render out fairly fast so it's not a big issue BUT it would be useful, like you said, to have them all rendered at the same time in one single EXR file.

Thanks again for the reply!
