What happens if you check the overwrite function each time you export a new mesh?

Octane reads the mtl-file from the obj only if you use the overwiter function or the project is new.

Let us say, the first time the reciver have material 1, the rack material 2 in the Octane material node.
The mtl-file looks similar.

If you hide the reciver and export again without the overwrite function, the rack becomes material 1 in the node but the ocs-file says it should be material 2.
I think thats the issue.

You can take a look in the mtl-file to see if the materials/textures are exported.
If they are exported, then the issue lies on the Octane side...

I always check to overwrite the project before to export other project.

Look, I made what you said.

I import .obj file in octane and almost everything works.

As you can see in image below, the red arrow is showing that only one texture could not be imported.

In green, the shader with glass material don´t open, I have to do it in octane.

And what say the mtl-file?
Is the missing texture written?

The mtl-file should look like this, you can open it with a text editor:

newmtl MaterialNameFromTheMissingTexture

I know, .pic isn´t supported by Octane, also spaces in the name, it´s just an example...

I´ve created another project for the 12th time and this time all worked.

I used a new name to octane project. But, the problems still exists.

Face, I saw something that can help...

I saw when the images will not open in octane the information "Loading Texture" donn´t appears to me.

And when it will work this information "loading texture" appears normally.

When the images will not open, stay the path/name as an enty in the mtl-file?
I bet they stay.
I can send you a modified plugin which shows you the commandline which will send to Octane.
This plugin is my current work and write out some other stuff in the script editor.
Also the export of strands won´t work and the plugin is for 2010+x64

There is a paramater at the beginning that is called -n and should be seen if you create a new project or check the overwrite function on.
Then Octane should use the mtl-file to assign the textures.
Otherwise Octane use the ocs-file...

I think that will help me a lot.

I just need to ensure that this problem will not happens several times.

The Octane was the missing piece we need to complete our based solution to decoration companies, everything is perfect for our needs and I hope this problem can be fixed or minimized.

I will try with your plugin. I´m waiting to be able to download.

Face, look this other case:

I tried to create a new scene in softimage instead create a new ocs file only
And It works...

Then I created a background and exported again and look what it happens...

If I delet this background it will work again.

If I import this model in other existing scenes it will not work, in other words, by now it will work if I use it only in new scenes and don´t create any other objects in the same scenes.

If you add meshes it doesen´t work.
It´s an Octane issue. The nodes don´t match the new mesh...

Use you Octane v2.4.3?
