I've stumbled across something that sound pretty exciting: possibly a 10-11 times faster way to export obj files. However, I'm not savvy enough to be sure if it could be used. Could you take a look at it Face?

It has some free source code available and free for everyone :)
EDIT: Damn, the source code link is gone. But i think i could beg it out of the author if u think it would benefit Softimage/Octane combo.

So, I have testet the other file output and the problem is to get the data from Softimage.
There is also no speed improvements...

I have a little problem with v6 : it doesn't seem to load properly.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

is possible that with the new release of octane I've problem to export area light?
Octan don't see the area ligth, only simple geometry.. I've try each way but nothing..

Yes, thats right, there is an issue. There was also a work in progress build ;)
I will fix it with the next release. In the meantime, uncheck the option to reduce trouble.
