Showtime ;)

Have build a new version from the plugin with the native unit size.
AND i have updated the plugin for XSI6/6.5.
In words, render camera only and the native unit size is integrated.

Changing the mesh size will change the aperture and focaldepth units too.

milli.gif

The use is simple, the cube in the image below is oversized, 20 SI-Units.
To export a rescaled version, change the native unit size from meters to decameters, the result should be 2m.
grid1.gif

In this image, the cube is undersized, 0.2 SI-Units.
To export that, change the native size to decimeters.

A note, you don´t need to rescale the exapmles above, Octane should render it correct in hers original size.
The function make sense for very small or very large meshes.
This function will work on everything you will export, meshes AND PointClouds.
The 6er version isn´t testet, maybe there are some issues...

Have fun...

Hehe i just downloaded the previous version :) Great job on the plugin. I will test the s*** out of the new one today.
One question: I remember vaguely reading a thread here on avoiding internet related problems while rendering animations. If i recall correctly, Radiance suggested that the problem could be handled inside the plugin with a kind of batch script. Have you read it? Do you think it could be done?

Is it just me or is the new plugin exporting faster ? :D It works perfectly smooth so far :) The scale feature is a blessing. Really great job Face.
"Export camera only" works for me, but i still can't get motion blur to work. Or maybe it's just to subtle to see.
About the internet-disconnection failsafe, i hope it will make it into Octane or your plugin some day, but even without it it pays off to use Octane on a job.
Once again thanks for making the XSI-Octane workflow a pleasure.

Thanks ;)
MB works only with camera movement. Object MB isn´t supportet by Octane, yet...
For that you can do it in post. I use RealSmartMB and have make a crossgrade from 3.3SI to 4.0OFX for composite that comes with the 2011SAP.
You pay then 114$...

The thing is i can't get camera motion blur, or for some reason it's not strong enough to be noticeable.

To test it, type in a JScript windows "SetValue("Octane_exporter.debug", true, null);"
Hit the render button and you will see some information in the script window.
One parameter is the cCam.
It should look like this:
// INFO : cCam: --cam-up-x -0 --cam-up-y 0.995037 --cam-up-z -0.0995037 --cam-target-x 0 --cam-target-y 0 --cam-target-z -3.55271e-015 --cam-pos-x 0 --cam-pos-y 3.09589 --cam-pos-z 30.9589 --cam-motion-up-x -0 --cam-motion-up-y 0.995037 --cam-motion-up-z -0.0995037 --cam-motion-target-x 0 --cam-motion-target-y 0 --cam-motion-target-z -3.55271e-015 --cam-motion-pos-x 0 --cam-motion-pos-y 3.09589 --cam-motion-pos-z 30.9589 --cam-fov 53.638

The motion parameters are the camera pos/up/dir values in the next/prev frame.
You can test it, if you have selected next as interpolation, when you go to the next frame and hit the render button again.
The actual camera values should then have the values from the prev motion values...

In the example above there is no camera animation, because the values are equal...

Hm, have tested it now and i don´t see any MB.
The values are exported correct, maybe a Octane issue, i will post it...

Thanks! I will test it today. To say the truth it didn't seem to work in the previous version either. I'll give it a try and post results soon after work.
