I must say that the 1.02 is truly a great release Face! Even though I shouldn't use Octane at all right, now I can't stay away from it haha.. Haven't found any issues with it so far :)

Thanks a lot Peter, fine to read.
But if you want issues, i will say some ;)

No.1:
The Imager, environment and material problem which causes a render refresh, which you can read in the RC4 thread.

No.2:
Meshes with clusters where the main material isn´t used, cause also a refresh.
That´s because the count of the materials which the mesh has and the exported materials aren´t equal.
This is my check if a material is added or removed.

No.3:
The red dots problem in the preview. Looks my function to convert the untonedmapped float image into 8/16bit chars isn´t correct.

Yeah, me too. I haved a lot of trouble in past with this plug in, but now is pretty stable and work fine, finally i can start production seriously. Really happy.
I need only the Render region to be SUPER and renders in other views...

By the way, the manual online is a bit poor.
There are a lot of nodes that i really don't know how to use and what they do.
It could be that i'm a bit stupid, (and i don't pretend to be perfect) but for example, what is OCTANE PORTAL? Where i can find explanation about this node in xsi? what it do?
Or for example, OCTANE verctor ID 1, what is and what it do? Thank you any way for the great job, i love OCTANE, and don't think that my question are critics negative, i only desire to know what the OCTANE nodes do, to be able to use them. Thank you!!!!!

;)

I would like to ask one thing:
The OCTANE imager node, work great, but one question i have:
In the stand alone OCTANE,when you change exposure, Fstop, saturation, gamma, etc etc, the variatons are applyed without restart the render, that is good, becasue you can tune the image when the sampling are good. Expecialy is very usefull the HOT PIXEL slider to see witch pixel are a prolem.
But in XSI the render re-start from zero every time you move some slider.
Is possible work like OCTANE stand alone in XSI?
If not why? than you again. :D

Hehe, yes youre right with the manual, it is poor.
But it takes some time to update it and this is time, which i can´t work on the plugin.

The Octane value shaders are made if you want to share some values between the shaders, like the image below.
Vectors can only used as input in single transformations shaders which are Octane_Rotation, Octane_Translation or Octane_Scale.
1D, 2D or 3D means the number of values. 1D shared his one value to x, y and z. 2D his two values to x and y, and 3D his three values also to x, y and z.

The imager problem is written above as No.1.
It happens because if you change a pass shader, all material shaders become a dirty state from Softimage.
And this state is what i had used to check if a shader parameter was changed.
The imager itself wasn´t the trigger to refresh the scene, the other shaders were the trigger.
But this is now gone with the next release.
This will come when i solve another problem.

The other shaders are one to one from the Octane standalone. Only the gradient is a little bit modified.
If you want some shader infos, you can read the standalone manual till the Softimage one is done.
You can use the portal for architectural windows to concentrate the incomming light rays which will help the renderer, if i´m not wrong...
