Phoenix FD for Maya and VDB

Hi. I'm trying to figure out how to use Octane for Maya (Maya 2020, OctaneRender for Maya 2020.2.3-19.13 [STABLE]) to render a simulation done with Phoenix FD (Phoenix FD 4.30.01 April 2021).
I was hoping that Octane could natively render Phoenix FD, but it looks like it cannot. :(
Looking online I found that you need to export the simulation in VDB format, and then import the VDB in Octane to be able to render it.
So I exported my sequence in VDB from the Phoenix FD exporter.
Then in the Octane menu I selected Octane VDB, and I have loaded the first .vdb frame of my simulation. I assigned an Octane material and hit render. Nothing is showing up.
the Octane VDB window has a ton of parameters, but I have no idea how to use it.
I looked on YouTube for tutorials, but I couldn't find any.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Hi Rikk,

sorry for the late reply.

OFM plugin support PhoenixFD a while ago!
Could you please confirm if there is Octane Rollout in the PhoneixFD's Simulation node?
The workflow is still the same as Octane's volume!

cheers
Kind Regards

Hi Rikk,

Unfortunately, we just confirmed PhoenixFD would work with Maya 2019, for now!
There was no PhoenixFD SDK for Maya2020 available when we were adding support for the OFM plugin.

Would you please roll back Maya to 2019 as a workaround?
We have already updated the PhoenixFD SDK for the next release!

Cheers
Kind Regards
