Color Correct HDRI Environment

Hi,

Is there a way to color correct an HDRI image for an Octane environment? In Maya's Hypershade, I see the OctaneImageTexture used for the environment. Is there anyway to add color correction node so I can change the tint to warm or cool the environment lighting?

Thanks,
Jeff

Thought I'd ask this again to see if anyone had a suggestion. The top chrome and grey ball is from the background plate and the bottom chrome and grey ball are rendered in Maya and Octane. It's light is from HDRI environment.

I used the Octane metallic material on the chrome and Octane diffuse set to 50% grey. Not sure if that's the best way to create these.

Any ideas on how to color correct the HDRI so I can blue tint to it?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi, you need to use the node editor and create those nodes :

to access octane settings you need to go to outliner and in display menu , uncheck DAG object only :

Cheers

ps : hypershade kinda sucks in maya imo, slow, not all node are accessible, i tend to only use node editor, and go to hypershade when i have no other choice.

Thanks so much for the tip. This really helps me. I couldn't figure out how to see the Octane render settings.

alternatively, is the issue maybe a white balance setting in octane, or due to the contrast ratio of your HDR (depending on how many EV stops there are, the sky color vs the sun color's contribution is pretty heavily affected)?

I'm sure the multiply solution provided will work fine, but it seems like it could be a band-aid (which may be fine for your purposes). Just thought i'd point that out as something to look into, because I could see simply color correcting your HDRI as being potentially problematic in some cases and not fixing the root issue.
