missing exr image output format

EXR does not appear in the list of available output file types - looking under the common tab in render settings. Here's what's in the file format drop-down menu:

(the blank one seems to be a duplicate of GIF)

Is there something I need to do to enable the EXR format?

Maya 2017
Octane Plugin v3.05.3 - 9.41
Windows 10Pro v1607

Thanks!

Go for Tiff16 format and it will output EXR.

As simple as a Maya's plugin of octane

Any one having a problem with Batch render coming out brighter on Tiff16(EXR) ? At the same time the IPR render goes way to dark when image format is switched to Tiff16 , but the Batch render brighter.

I do my IPRs on RAW.

Update: looks like turning on Tone mapped HDR helps. But then then batch render comes out super bright. Looks like Its rendering SRGB even though its set to RAW.

Any one now how to render as Raw ? I have my apply out transform to Renderer set to Raw as well.

Hi Pjsi,

Maybe it needs to turn off response curve.. Please go to Octane camera settings- Imager then select linear off
Let us know how it goes.
Kind Regards

Oh Hi BK,

Thanks for getting back to me on this.

Actually I was able to do it by Turning on Tonemapped HDR for my final render and In my compositing software (AE) checking on preserve RGB in my color management, This I way I could use the effect of octane camera image response as well.

Switching to linear/off while Tonemapped HDR is on or off helps with the brightness for final render, its still slightly brighter than my original Raw image.

Previous method looks like exactly how its suppose to look.

Thanks anyway.
