Is it possible to use the ai upscaling for animations?

I'm getting fuzzy images and anti-aliasing when using the ai upscaling. Even with just 2x2.

I have the ai option selected and it is very fast but the results are awful.

The images used for introducing ai up-scaling (the orange quad bike) looked much better.
Why am I not getting the same quality.

THe only way I can get it looking OK is by doubling the dims of the image which then takes longer to render, making the upscaling pointless.

What gives?

Hi Rik,
The efficacy of up-scaling depends on resolution and scene.
As you can see in my screenshot at 4000*2400 resolution is an excellent result and the calculation time is 1/4.
I would say that in animation rendering can be very helpful, in terms of time, up sampling works very well.
Obviously at low resolutions the result is less effective.
