3ds Max - VrayConversion: LightPowerScale

As a lighting designern, I've always been annoyed that Octane used Watts instead of Lumen values since no one in the industry would dare to specify the illuminance with Watts. The relationship between both is unclear and hidden ion a forum post with no proof or factual backup source.

I seem to have come a problem in the 3ds Max plugin. It seems to specify a lightPowerScale of 0.01

From the forum post reference above, the proper ratio should be 0.0014641288433382 not 0.01. I always thought the sun looked weak in the renders that are converted from Revit using 3ds Max.

Am I correct in thinking this is the wrong number? There is no documentation on these settings that I can find. If it is wrong, I would suggest clarifying the documentation regarding light power and setting the scale to an appropriate default value.

Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi SamuelAB,
it depends on your decimal precision 3dsMax setting, 0.0014641matches using luminous power.
