Network rendering

Hi
I have my main machine running 3DS2018 and Octane plugin and a HTPC/VR machine on the network that is running Windows 10. I'd like to leverage the GPU in the other PC when rendering within 3DS

It's my understanding that I'd install the standalone version on the 2nd PC and then it should show up as an slave when in 3DS>Octane>Network, but it doesn't

Am I doing something wrong or is my subscription not valid for this setup? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi Critters,
as you can find here: https://home.otoy.com/render/octane-render/subscriptions/
OctaneRender Subscription has the following limitations compared with a full (purchased) license:
Use of the software is available only while online, connected via the internet to the Octane licensing server
A maximum of 2 GPU’s are available for rendering
Network rendering is not available
Subscription licenses may not be used with non -subscription licenses (i.e. purchased licenses)
Using full license, each slave needs a stand alone license, so you have to purchase another SA license, but not another 3dsMax plugin.
keep in mind Master and slaves must have the same SDK version, so you should use (for example):
Octane for 3dsMax 3.08.1 - 5.1 and Octane Standalone 3.08.1

Hold up, my account has a v3 licence for 3DS, not a subscription, so it should work right?

Hi Critters,
I can not say what license you have, but you can know it by looking at the screenshot.

Hi Critters,
To use the plugin’s network rendering feature, you need the Standalone Edition’s slave node installed on each of the external computers, so you need to purchase a single Octane license for your slave.
