Hi remKa,
to sign out of Octane Standalone and any plug-in software, please follow the process as described in the Octane Manual 'Signing Out' details here:
https://docs.otoy.com/StandaloneH_STA/StandaloneManual.htm#StandaloneSTA/AuthenticationAndInternetAccess.htm.
When you sign out of your plug-in, both your Standalone and Plug-in licenses will be deactivated. (A Standalone license is always bound to a plug-in license, when a plug-in is launched).
Using a laptop with wifi, it could happen Octane licensing system could have IP address license issue. In this case I recommend you to use manual signout.
You could try the following:
1. Close ALL octane applications, including 3dsMAx.
2. Run Octane Standalone Standalone Edition and navigate to File > Account.
3. Sign out and close the Standalone Edition. (The standalone at this stage will have signed out ALL Octane keys registered for that machine).
Then, retry launching 3dsmax, and let us know what happens. You should get Octane's normal authentication window (at this point, you just want to check if Octane asks for re-authentication, don't sign on if you intend to use your keys somewhere else), and that means signing out via the standalone has worked out for the plugin as well.
