yes Multi/Sub are ALWAYS a problem..since a long time now...in my case i have some sub materials that are mix within a mix (SSS Shader for characters) for example..those take even longer..a Multi/Sub of about 17 subs and of those, around 5 mix within a mix can take around 15seconds to update
