Hi,

The issue, it seems at this point at least, is that:

1. It is an issue deep in the core of 3ds Max (any amount of tinkering, however small, is considered a huge risk for anything that isn't a critical fix or major update).
2. While this is a "bug" for us, it isn't necessarily a "bug for Autodesk developers - it is more a design choice for their developers that we, as third-party developers, need to work within as best we can.

Currently, the solution to this issue is to bridge this particular gap between Autodesk's design philosophy and our own.

I would advise to have 3ds max developers start calling autodesk and start finding solution to this problem. I am afraid this will take years to fix since noone has even contacted autodesk yet to begin the process and it's been 2 months already since we started discussing this problem again.

This is wrong. As I already wrote on the forum, I opened a ticket at Autodesk a long time ago, there was no reaction from them (the ticket number has been posted on this forum). So there was no additional info for you on that case.
But happily, today they've finally sent a meaningful answer to our guy who has been trying to push on them all this time... It is confirmed that this is a bug in Autodesk 3ds Max application (as I've been explaining from the beginning). Now let's hope that they'll fix it in some of next service packs...

Wow JimStar! Thank you
I really thought it would take years for them to respond. Hopefully they can fix it one day.

Hi thekwen,
Juanjgon told if the object to be exported has the velocity "v" point attribute, it should be exported to the alembic file using for example the Alembic ROP, that by default has all the options to export attributes enabled.
This ROP can also compute the mesh deformations motion blur if you enable the "Use Motion Blur" option, but in this case you don't get a velocity "v" attribute, but a real mesh deformation data.
