Hi,
I know it is more hardware related....
Is there a problem to run a 1080ti for max display and a 3090 for octane rendering ? ( in same pc of course ) as 1080ti isn't RTX.
Thanks
( 3090 alone is sloooow to do both )

Hi,
There shouldn't be any major problem, as far as I know.
It's actually often recommended to dedicate one GPU for "monitoring" and the other for "computing". However, using both will limit the VRAM to the GPU with the lowest VRAM capacity. Linking this hardware guide which may interest you.

sure You can, HHbomb.

some problems might come out if both of Your cards are not supported by the same driver and need different drivers for each card, but in case of 1080ti and 3090 it works fine with game ready or studio drivers.

As long as You are not using both cards at the same time for rendering, You would still see full 24gb (minus 1.4 to 1.6 for WDDM driver mode). Having screen on dedicated discrete GPU or using built in GPU makes perfect sense.

also, if You get A5000 or such, and run it in TCC mode You can unlock full 24GB GB of VRAM, but than this card could not be used powering screens at all, as Tesla Compute Cluster driver mode is only for compute.
